As a live painter, one of my greatest fortes is being able to connect with people. Through that connection and exchange of energy, my live art becomes a captivating experience. I use different techniques and unique mediums throughout my work, not only to create an engagement with the audience, but to create a correlation between the painting and the client or event.

My goal as a live artist is to create a new form of engagement within a crowd, stimulating their creative senses in such a way that the audience becomes an additional element in the final art piece.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

Everything starts with a call with the client to understand what is their vision and highlight of the event. I then put together 2-3 designs and present them to the client so they can choose. I like to work with each client hand in hand on what it is they want to emphasize or capture in the painting and the event.

For corporate events, I work with client brands on making sure the brand stands out and way to engage the guests into the artwork.

For weddings, I like to use engagement photos to create customized design of the bride and the groom, and use them not only for the painting but also as collage throughout the artwork. I’m also a professional photographer, so if bride and groom don’t have engagement photos, we can plan a photo session as well.

After everything is decided, I come one hour prior to the event, set-up, and in 4-5 hours, the final artwork will be completed!

WHAT INSPIRES YOUR CREATIVITY?

People. I’ve always been very inspired by people and their stories. They journeys through life, the way they think, the way they dress, each person’s story. Both through the use of photography and painting, I strive to capture a person’s essence. Even with my live mixed media work, I work hand in hand with my clients, whether it’s a wedding, brand experience, or a corporate event, and use figures and techniques to capture the essence they are trying to convey.

HOW DOES PAINTING IN-PERSON ENHANCE THE EVENT/ACTIVATION?

Art is a form of capturing people’s attention and connecting with them. As I paint my mixed media live paintings, people connect with me and the art work they are seeing come to life. It taps into their senses and creates a sense of awe, wonder, and excitement as they see how each element that I incorporate into the work, brings it together. I also almost always incorporate the audience as part of the artwork, either through the use of polaroids, written messages, or even writing on the canvas itself.

Since each project is unique in itself, per request, I also create custom silk screens artworks prior to the event for your guests to take home.

WHAT DOES THE SET-UP LOOK LIKE?

The set-up depends on the size of the canvas that the client requests. I always suggest no smaller than 4 x 4 feet, because you want to create resonance in the event. Normally for canvases up to 5 x 5 feet, I will bring along a wooden easel, if bigger, I work with the client to provide some sort of base and we place frame up against a wall. I also like to have a table with all my materials around me, and a canvas on the floor.

For Weddings - HOW DOES THE ARTWORK ENHANCE A FAMILY’S MEMORY OF THE WEDDING DAY?

It’s very simple. You get to keep your own customized unique mixed media artwork unlike any other works. Unlike photographs or videos that you usually put away, a live mixed media artwork is not only painted during your wedding reception, but is later a statement piece for your home. Whether your guests become a part of it through polaroids, or written messages, you get to keep a memorable commissioned piece as part of your art collection.
